Ron Pompel
Ron Pompel grew up in Lincoln City. He Served for 4 years in the Marines in jet aviation electronics, after which he got a degree in Forestry. He worked in the US Forest Service for for 15 years, working on various forests in Oregon. He also served as a volunteer firefighter with the Oakridge Fire Department and eventually became an EMT-II, working on a full life support ambulance.
In 1984 he moved with his family to Eugene where he changed careers from timber to radio and microwave.
In 1989 he moved to Gresham where he managed the radio shop until 1991 at which point he accepted a position with Bonneville Power Administration in their Phone and Net work Division, eventually migrating to Cyber Security where he worked until his retirement in 2005.
After retirement, he moved into the financial field with World Financial Group and then became a Financial Advisor with Transamerica Financial Advisors after retirement from BPA. He has been educating and helping families since. He also works with Medicare and enjoys educating and assisting his fellow Boomer Generation navigate that stage of life.
He is a member of the Gresham Pathway (Baptist) Church, Gresham Chamber and the Lions Supper Club. It was through a Lions Bowling Fundraiser that he became acquainted with Dr. Gray and MEWA. He considers it an honor to serve on the Board of Metro East Web Academy.
