MEWA Board of Directors
The Metro East Web Academy is a non-profit corporation/charter school under the sponsorship of the Gresham-Barlow School District. Incorporated in 2009 under state and federal regulation, the school operates as a separate and independent public entity. The “charter” is a contractual agreement between the MEWA and the GBSD. The contract term is July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2023.
A self-sustaining Board of Directors is responsible for the successful operation of the corporation. This includes hiring the Chief Executive Officer/Principal and fiscal oversight. The board consists of three to nine members.

Board meetings are open to the public and students, parents/guardians and community members are encouraged to attend.

Board Bylaws are rules that govern Metro East Web Academy, its members and other requirements set forth by the State and Federal government.
